speedometers aren't underrated, and modding the engine and drivetrain wont affect the speedo reading, unless you swap in a transmission with different gear ratios. i'm not sure what its called on a bike, but the rear axle gear, swapping it would affect the top speed, acceleration and speedo reading. my car's speedo is still set up for either 3.23 or 3.42 gears and i have 3.73's, so at 70 on the interstate it says about 95.

my speedo reads like 60 and i am really doing like 67 or 66. thats because of 35"s though.

About time we had some law around here

I'm not a cop. but i'm friends with one and he rides with my group. He brought the radar out last time we went riding, and his radar reads fine with the speedo, but since theres a +/- 10km/h error margin, the 'legal' speed is always the reading minus 10 km/h.. not sure what it is in the states tho.
