Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice on a new speaker setup for my 2015 f150. The stock speakers are well... stock and I want something much better. I have shopped around and received quotes ranging from 700-3000. Currently looking at the shop with the best price and am wondering what yall think of the product for the price. So heres what i will be getting:

2 sets of Alpine SPS-517 Type S 5"x7"/6"x8" 2-way car speakers at Crutchfield.com

1 sub - Alpine PWE-S8 Compact 120-watt powered 8" subwoofer at Crutchfield.com

The estimate was for $700. So 200 for the speakers, 300 for the sub and 200 labor. So is it worth doing? Thanks

$700 out the door is a fair price if they are including the wiring for the Alpine and the Speaker Harnesses. The Type-S speakers are a nice upgrade over most factory systems and I rarely have a disappointing customer with them. If you need some more juice, consider adding the Alpine PowerPack as well.

Thanks for the response all, the factory system is just the base model XLT speakers. I do not know the specifics. The $700 included everything, however after going on crutchfield and speaking with an advisor I was given this setup that is VERY tempting. I may even install the speakers myself and get the sub done only. For about $700 I can get:

2064CS6934 Kicker 40CS6934 6" x 9" 3-Way Speakers

2064CS654 Kicker 40CS654 6-1/2" 2-way Speakers

1208PK T-SPEC 8ga Amp Wiring Kit

669PP502 Posi-Products Connector Kit 8 pieces for Car Speakers

20611HS8 Kicker 11HS8 8" Compact Powered Subwoofer

And for another two hundred bucks I can upgrade to this sub: 20611PS10C Kicker 11PES10C Single 10" Subwoofer Enclosure, Powered (If it fits).

What would be the better option? in terms of bang for your buck? I'm not too worried about removing door panels to replace speakers.

Thanks for the help all!

The Alpine speakers are significantly better speakers than the Kicker CS series. I strongly advise customers from buying the Kicker CS speakers. The Crutchfield guy is full of it because the Kicker subwoofer comes with the wiring kit already.
