I'm looking to replace my oem stereo. I will be replacing the head unit as well as all 4 6.5" speakers

I'm disappointed with the sound quality and the quality of the oem head unit. I'm looking for better sound quality as well as theft deterrence in my new stereo set up

I know I'll need an adapter to fit a single or double din head unit since the factory one is 200mm as opposed to 180mm for aftermarket ones

Swapping out the head unit would be the first thing to do. If you buy from crutchfield or sonic electronix, they include the dash mounting kit along with wiring harness for free. Unless you really plan on going all out, swapping speakers to aftermarkets will make things sound a whole lot worse unless you buy quality speakers, amp them, and sound treat your doors to perfection. As for a head unit. Look for anything with a 24 bit dac, 7 band or higher EQ, time alignment and the features you want. Thats the bare minimal for good sounding head units.
