200W RMS into Tweeters?

Using the Dynaudio M100 tweeters.

Will it do it any harm by feeding it 200W rms?

I don't know what the RMS on them is, but just be careful with your gains.

make sure that you have them crossed over correctly. listen for distortion too so you dont kill them. dont get out of control with your gains either.

Does that mean if i set the gain correctly(according to the gain tutorial) ill be safe? Or will i need to turn them down a little?

Will the huge current fry it if i play it loud?

Most tweets can only handle 20 wrms (striat amp power w/o a xo), it's the XO network that the/a tweet has that burns up the remaining energy.

Im running active now.

50W RMS to mids and tweeters.

But wanna get a bigger amp for the mids. Maybe in the region of 150W to 200W.

Will it be alright to feed the mids 200W while the tweets 50W?

200 watts to a tweeter would literally make you deaf in about 5 seconds flat ...

then you wont beable to hear it nemore...because they;ll more then likely be blown

nah, I've seen horns with 100, that's gotta be louder than almost any tweet with 200 watts. I was pretty far away from the vehicle though, and it was really loud. Maybe it would deafen you?!

The Dyns will love that power. Last year I did a test with my Dyn comp set (mw160 driver and the md100 tweet) to see just how much power it could take. What I did was take my pair of DLS Ultimate A3 amps, and bridge each amp to one side of the comps. Each set was getting 550 watts of clean, efficient power. I could turn the volume up on my ///Alpine to 30, then I had to get out of the truck because my ears hurt. BUT the tweet took it like a champ and they never clipped, got muggy, or went into protect mode. Those tweets are very power hungry and will take almost all the power you can toss at them. I would say do it dude.
