Overview
I've looked at decks for plenty of years now and I've always had a fancy for Pioneer because of the overall quality and reassurance of the 2 year warranty although that is almost never needed with pioneer.
Looking for a more "high-end" type of style is always what I've been with decks as it is the source of everything. For a few years I've been looking at the 940MP, 860MP, etc. The very high end ones. I would consider this deck to be right up there with them.
The one option that really got me with this deck is the front AUX input. You heard that right. A front input which is smaller (2.5mm rather than a headphone jack which is 3.5mm) but easily adaptable off of ebay for like 5 bucks. I use my iPod daily off the front input, then when I want to put it away and listen to a cd from a friend or one of my own I just put it all away and bam it's clean. I like that cause I am more of a clean person than just eff it throw it over there.
Rating
Sound Quality (rating – 9.5/10)
“Only problem I have found yet is the fact I can't turn the bass off to my speakers. If I knew it had one or could find it, it would get a perfect 10."
User Functionability (rating – 10/10)
"This deck is VERY easy to move around on with the remote. I personally like using the remote over the deck itself cause it keeps it cleaner and the remote is simple to memerize so you can change stuff while you're driving."
Overall (rating – 9/10)
"Although it is in no term better than every deck in America, it definatly sticks up there as very high quality, as you would expect from Pioneer."
This deck has suprised the hell out of me in one way. My old deck, which was a completely bottom-dollar sony (when I bought the car it was in there) was only a 2.2v. This deck, which is a 4v has made my ONE sub sound better and louder than my TWO did with the other deck. The settings to control bass on the sub are great ranging from 50,63,80,100, and 125 Hz and a bass boost of +15 to -15.
What REALLY made a difference is how well this thing conserves power. With my past deck, I could turn it up to 20 and get dimming lights on the inside and headlights. With this deck I can easily hit 30 with full bass and hardly notice a movement in power (theres a batter voltage screensaver) and almost no dimming at all.
If you're looking for a good deck in the $200.00 range (check eBay, people) then you should consider this deck highly.
