Ok ive done some searching and have read that most of Hifonics's newer lineups will do their rated power. And I even think I saw the rating were CEA certified or something like that...anyway. Ive decided to depart from my old Brutus BX1000D. Its served me well and proven to provide 900+watts of power. But im in the game for more. Im letting it go for 150 which I plan to save another 150-170 to play with. I know I want a newer Brutus such as the BXi1606D, or BXi2006D. I know for a fact my IA DP will handle it. But I want one last opinion on them. So my question is? Do they actually do their rated power now? Ive heard the newer lineups are alot stronger than the old ones and if they are than their bulletproof for the money cuz my Bx1000d has been through it all at 1 ohm and never once went into protection. So anyone with any opinions, your welcomed to leave them.

I can tell you this:

my buddy has the bxi2006 and his gains and his bass boost is MAXED out, amp still runs fine. It does get really hot, but it has never turned off on him yet. He has been running that setup with 2l7s, and it never went into protect.

From that reading, i can say these amps are solid. About rated power, can't tell ya much.
