2003 silverado **kenwood, boston, dd, orion, damplifier** Lots of pics!!

Just started the install for my 2003 silverado.

System will be as follows:

sub:dd 1508

box: 1 cu ft ported to 34hz

sub amp orion 1200d @ 4 ohms (roughly 500 rms)

comps: boston acoustics z6's

comp amp: arc audio 300.4 (roughly 300rms to each side)

h/u: kenwood ddx712 (wired to watch dvds while driving)

wirng: knukonceptz 1/0, rca's, walmart speaker wire

deadening: 40 sq feet, 20 sq feet to each door of damplifier

electrical: big 3 with 1/0 knu wire, optima yellow top, stock alt

These pics are from day 1 of working on it, i'll continue working thursday and will post pics as I go.

Day 1, installed h/u, ran power wire for amps, ran rca's to rear of vehicle, deadened doors and installed speakers.

and finally the speakers going in:

I ordered 40 sq ft of damplifier, I put 2-3 layers on each door, I put a little more where the speakers are mounted (was going to make an mdf baffle but didn't have a jig saw)

On thursday I plan on finishing up everything, work list for thursday includes:

Doing the big 3

finishing up the component install

modding the backseat so it folds down so I can mount the amps back there

making and carpeting an amp rack

carpeting the box (box is already done)

installing sub amp and sub box.

I have quite the work load lined up thursday but hopefully it will come together without any snags **knocks on wood**

Hopefully it will sound pretty good, do you guys agree?

looking pretty good so far. i love when people put pics of their deadening in their worklog. thats my favorite part.

also love that headunit. i wish i could fit a double din in my cavalier(without modding car)

it was pretty hard figuring out how to use the double din mountin kit (wasn't very high quality) but overall it turned out pretty good. The only down side is now I have a kick as$ head unit and great speakers-with no sound. Tomorrow i'll finish the install though

will do man, I can't wait for tomorrow. This is my first "nicer" vehicle and the first time i've actually sat down and thought everything out and had more of a "planned" system. This should also be the best system i've ever had by far.

Finished the amp rack yesterday, finished wiring the comps, all that's left to do is cover the box (trying to find more vinyl) and install the sub. I would have got done yesterday but my gf's brother had a birthday dinner at 6. More pics later!!

I love the HU. Nice work on the doors. I'd like to deaden my dads Tundra but I've never taken doors off before.

Lol, I see your avatar.....gotta love arrival blue! Im wanting to do a 2 tone on the interior, katzkin charcoal leather seats with blue suede insterts. That's after the 20's, 4/6, ss bumper and welded in roll pan of course.
