18" too big for a trunk car? I've used em before in my '01 Accord sedan. Firing upwards helps.Sooooooooooooooooo I went and got me a never run '05 RE XXX 18. My only problem is the sub is GIGANTIC for my trunk. Would infinite baffle be a viable option in this situation? If not can I possibly get some suggestions on what box to run. I know an 18 is too big for a trunk car, but I wanted to see what I could do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif I got a MD2D running the sub and a MD22 running boston pro60s, both those amps have to fit back there too. Help me out!

Ok so you can cram a bunch in a trunk, but is it loud?.orly?

I find a single 18 to be very easy to get into a trunk as long as you don't have a convertible or the likes of something with no trunk space. 18" BTL is ridiculous with 6-8 cubes, which is pretty easy to get out of a trunk if you build inside the trunk when you go near 8 cubes. Maybe me and everybody I know just have huge trunks though?Ok so you can cram a bunch in a trunk, but is it loud?.
In general an 18 is just to much to cram in average trunks. If you do, its usually not a optimal set up. Why not just recone the XXX to something more manageable?
Just because you can cram it in a trunk doesn't mean its optimal. You could really just be choking off the trunk from the cabin. Ive seen it many times before, and every car is different. I do know for a fact that a mustang trunk is tiny, and that would be a disaster set up.I find a single 18 to be very easy to get into a trunk as long as you don't have a convertible or the likes of something with no trunk space. 18" BTL is ridiculous with 6-8 cubes, which is pretty easy to get out of a trunk if you build inside the trunk when you go near 8 cubes. Can't choke it off when you fire it forwards and port it forwards while sealing the trunk off //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifJust because you can cram it in a trunk doesn't mean its optimal. What you call ridiculous, i may find quiet / unacceptable for the given equipment.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Sealing off the trunk from the cabin is a whole different story. If that was the case, then it doesn't matter what you cram in their, as long as its the correct size etc. Can't choke it off when you fire it forwards and port it forwards while sealing the trunk off //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I doubt you would call an 18 BTL/MT/whatever in 8 or 9 cubes off of 3-4kW in a trunk quiet for the equipment though, but like you said the car plays a huge role. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
