2003 Chevy Silverado Help

I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado Ext. Cab with a BOSS RIP 596 amp under my rear seat with two 12" Pioneer TS-W300R subwoofers. It is nice for what came with it when I bought it, but when I turn it up louder it becomes distorted. What are some options to fix this? New subs? New Amp? Any information what so ever would be greatly appreciatted. Thanks!

And how might someone that doesn't know how do that? Thank you very much! What would be some good sub and/or amp combo for the smaller under the seat box I already have? Could I just upgrade one or the other to improve? Thanks again!

Depending on the size of the enclosure will help to determine which subs will work best. Being as its underneathe the backseat of an '03 chevy I'm guessing you have around .73 cubic feet or less per sub and a mounting depth of roughly4.5" - 7" With this information there are numerous subs/ drivers that could be a good match.

Right off the top of my head RE SE 10" subs would work well in that space as long as you have a mounting depth of 6.5" in your current box. If you go this route or any other it might not hurt to look into getting a new amplifier for the setup as well. You need to decide what you are looking to get out of your system (i.e. sq, sql, or what. An all out SPL application will be a little harder to accomplish in that small of an area).
