2002 Ford Explorer Build Log

I have finally began to piece together the equipment for my next install. Being away at school makes it difficult to work on things, so slowly but surely it will get done. I'll try to keep this thread updated as I go along.

To begin, the vehicle will be a 2002 Ford Explorer.

The equipment that I am installing:

Two 12" Fi Qs

Orion 2500D

Orion 8004

AudioControl EQX

I began by tearing the entire out so I could lay this down:Two rolls of RAAMmat BXT and 9 yards of Ensolite.

I began in the back and worked my way up front. In some photos you will see I used Spray Foam to fill in some of the space in the panels.

I then laid Ensolite over all of the deadener:

I did both front doors with about five layers total of RAAMmat, but since it is such a tight space, the photos didn't turn out very good.

Afterwards, I began to put it all back together:

That's it for now. I'll try to remember to get pictures of everything as I go along. Sorry this post wasn't very interesting, but it is all part of the process.

Actually got really lucky and spent around $250. Rick hooked me up real nice.

The front speakers are going to be the same speakers Nick (NDMstang65) is running. They are nearly identical to the AA Poly Mids, except they have a carbon fiber cone.

I plan on running them active using the AudioControl EQX.

man if my truck didnt have rear a/c that big gapeing compartment on the left side is nice... but mine has a a/c unit in there

gluck...... explorers are easy to work on so that helps.
