Ok so i'm doing an install for a friend in his ranger std cab, my gosh there is no room in these things! We took off his door panels and ran speaker wire to them on saturday, but he hasn't bought all his stuff yet. He has a pioneer HU and what hes getting is, RE 6.5" Coax for the front, no rear fill, knu wiring, a kicker ZX700.5, and a RE SR 10" in a ~.65 cubic foot sealed box getting around 400+ RMS. So heres a little log of the box i did for him.
It fits between his two seats and the center console and the back with an angle to make good space. Heres a pic of how terrible it looked before... it was scraps that were about 1/8 to 1/4 short and long in some places...
But thank God for bondo...
So after a few coats of this stuff and some sanding I got it to look like this.
Here I got it sanded and two coats of latex primer/sealer, brushed it on.
He wanted to use the cheap bedliner from walmart.... I advised him not to, but he wanted to save a few bucks. And look...
the valve broke instantly and began to spew the goop for a few hours till the sun dried it enough to clog... I took the cans to walmart today and got a refund. I got some of the 3M undercoat which is basically the same stuff, and iv used it before with good luck so I gave it a try. And now it looks like this.
It came out really nice IMO. Last thing to do is line the walls with poly fill and put a terminal cup in. Hes ordering the sub friday, so whenever he gets it to me and i put it in, i'll update. Once he gets all his parts in and I put it in, I'll post back for anyone looking at doing a single cab truck. Thanks for looking
