anyone have a 99-01 altima? mine is an 01... i need to amp my speakers, 2 in the front doors and 2 in the rear deck, im just wondering how to wire the front speakers, like where can i run the wire from my front speakers to the amp, i know i have to go throught that rubber tube thing in the side of the door somehow, but i think there might be an easier way under the dash... i just cant find it. can anyone help me here? if this is difficult to understand i can reword it.

The best way to do it is to run new wires into the door.

HOWEVER, if you aren't pushing too much power around, just run all your speaker wires from the amp to behind the HU and use the factory wiring to the speaker. I wouldn't suggest doing this if you were upgrading to mbquarts and pushing 100 watts to each speaker, but would work for factories or mild replacements with about 50 watts per speaker.

Otherwise, have fun running wires!!!

nah im not doing 100rms, more like 40-50rms each speaker. you know how you have a pos. and neg. from each speaker, and then at the end you get down to the HU wiring harness and only have one wire for say the front left speaker... how far am i going to have dig to find the original pos. and neg. of the speaker wire to intergrate to my amp? sorry never installed an amp to my speakers before nor have i really played with HU installs, just put mine in and forget about it, hah. thanks for the replies.

You should have two wires all the way back to the HU ... there's no way to run a speaker on 1 wire.

Check your wiring schematic to see whats goin on there.

Best thing to do is run new wiring. That way you have the best possible wiring (1 piece between speaker and amp. Also you will know its the correct gauge for the amount of power you're running.

Some older systems used to use the chassis for the negative speaker. I don't know if that's the case with your Altima. If it is the case, you will want to run new wires from the amp to the speakers. Actually you should anyway, the factory speaker wiring is junk, and it's run all over under the dash, picking up all kinds of noise.
