2001 540 bmw

Hi guys i was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem, i have a bmw 540i and i put 2 JL audio w7 12's in the trunk but its not near as loud as the same set up was in my old my car(actura TL) the box is the same one i used befor but im guessing its cause of the metal plate between the trunk and the back seats. Anyone have any suggestion? the plate doesnt look like it comes out with out using a plasma cutter or something. PLEASE help i miss not being able to light a lighter in my car when stereo is turned up all the bass is stuck in my trunk.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

ya i have seen bmws that port through the rear deck.. only way to do it really..

Thanks for the help guys anyone know an easy way to do that cause i kept the factory mids and high and the back speakers are in like a box(thats metal go figure right) thanks agian

BMW trunks are very well sealed, i believe your model has the gas tank behind the rear seat making it even more difficult.

You going to need to remove the rear speakers (useless anyways) or cut a passage in the rear deck for air to flow.

I suggest just removing the speakers and assembly as its not a permanent effect on the vehicle.

Make the sub shoot into the cabin or have the trunk as a box i did that in my bmw z4 the trunk was like super super small it was a 2 seater convertable just put the trunk as a box sealed it up all nice and tite

No you didnt, and that doesnt even make sense...did you mount the sub in the trunk lid?

No Theres a part of the seat that folds down i just fold that seat down and sealed off the trunk so air leaked out its probly like 6 cubes the trunk is really small...I used the trunk as a sub encloser it was that or nothing theres no way i can fit a box in there

So basically IB?

I replaced the glove box in a z3 with a sub while still looking factory. Looked pretty bad A

Take out the speakers in your rear deck and put grills over them. BMW's and other luxury cars are known to be hard to get loud because they have better construction.
