2000 Pathfinder: How can I get a wire from the engine bay to behind the dash?!!?!?!??

It's his car. He thinks he wasted his money you kno how people start to whine when things dont go 100% smooth..

I cant just drill a hole I would be drilling blindly there is many seperate layers of metal to the firewall and i wouldnt even be able to find the hole on the other side because of how much is crammed in that area.

Anyone have any experience with the 2000 pathfinder???

Pull carpet back on the passenger side find a clear area and drill a hole. It's not that big of a deal.
I'm going to take a look into that.

But the engine bay goes so deep and it is VERY crampt I may not be able to reach down and pass the wire thru the hole if i am even able to find it.

and if i try and pass it thru from the inside I may not be able to reach down and pull it up... etc etc...

I'd like to do the hole behind the center a/c ducts but I dunno if the a/c ducts can be shifted over etc etc..

I'm praying someone who has experience with this car will chime in.

What are the chances you have an old car antenna (i know probably not huge) but I guess a wire coat hanger would work. Electrical tape the bish up and pull her through!

does this make sense?

My bro has a 2000 pathfinder. Been hella long since we put his wire in. I'll talk to him this weekend... shoot me a pm if ya still wanna know. We ran 0ga and don't see how we didn't drill though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

is it an automatic? if so... look under the dash where the clutch should be... there should be a piece of carpet or black rubber covering that you can pull off... you will see a blockoff plate... like a circle so if it was a clutch it could be knocked out and the clutch could be installed... drill through that

It is so deep down into the engine bay even if i did have that spot to drill a hole

how would I be able to reach down and pull the wire up?

Also the battery is on the passenger side front most part of the car.

Im going to look in both foot wells to see where i can drill.

But i'll just be blind drilling and I may not even be able to reach the wire.

its a thin gauge just for a power inverter.

Experience is the key to success.

Goto the passenger side footwell and drill a hole in the area where the firewall meets the floorboard, this way you can tell whats on the other side and have access to either side. "When in doubt go low"

Use a grommet for the hole to avoid shorts and put a gob of silicone on the hole after you run the wire through to keep water out.

I hate drilling into my car. I paid a local shop $20 and they did it for me. Maybe that's an option, so you don't have the liability or the stress.

find that spot i told u about... drill it... shine a light through the hole and look on the other side for the light... you'll see it... if not... push the wire through about 3 or 4 feet.. u'll see the wire then... grab it and pull it

Well.. Im going to take another look.

but the engine bay is deep like 4 ft deep. and CRAMMED LIKE A MOFO so im very doubting that ill be able to see or reach anything. The things got pipes and hoses crammed right up against the firewall.

If anyone knows how to get a wire inside without drilling let me know.

and im still waiting for a pm from the member that was going to ask his brother.
