Nissan standard HU aux in HELP PLZ

My dad has just brought a Nissan xtrail 05. Just wondering if anyone knows the best way to get an aux input in to the standard HU (for an Ipod). And please dont say FM modulator because in my experience they are $h!t.

I Havant taken the HU out at the moment to see whats going on. But if someone has got some knowledge that would be great

Also as a general rule does the standard sat nav have its own output or would this be run through the standard HU?

I think that it will be a replacement HU
