I have a 2000 jeep grand cherokee with the infintiy sound system inside from the dealer.

I would like to put a really nice aftermarket headunit and go with a sub box, but i heard from friends that it will be hard to bypass the factory system in this jeep. i really need help on this what do i do. I have tried some local car audio places where i live but the prices are kind high my pocket are not that deep. Also I have already got the front door and rear door speakers, i went with alpine. How would i take the door panels off.

Please help me. Thank you

dont often say this, but you just hit the too hard basket. the infinity system sounds pretty **** good for a factory system and this is because all the bits including the amp and speakers are matched and special. the speakers have a very low winding resistance to make the amp perform, and if you put in ANY kind of regular after market speaker, alpine or otherwise, the effect will be worse not better.

the only way around this is to change the head unit, the amp and ALL of the speakers at once.

you think this sounds hard and costly???? youre right, it is...........

sorry dude
