2000 Ford Taurus defrost issues

I popped an aftermarket head unit in the wifes car a couple of weeks ago. Now with the weather getting colder we noticed that the rear defroster does not turn on. I checked all of the harnesses and tested all of the wires and everything seems to be where it should be. A buddy of mine seems to remember something about putting an ignition wire to one of the wires in the defrost harness. Anyone out there that can help me out?

Is it possible that when youns were checking for a 12v pos lead you touched it to the defrost harness and accidentally popped a fuse? I know there is a few fuses for the defrost but I cant remember if they are located under the dash or in the engine compartment.
