2 x 12" RE SE vs DD 2500

Ok upgrading... have 4 10" Memphis PR subs. Got my eye on 2 12's...

So local dealer had RE and I was sold on the SE line and was gonne get two 12" SE's. BUT they ditched RE for DD. So now I am looking at 2 12" 2500's... should I go for them?

BTW they will be powered buy a Memphis 1000D amp... (1100x1wrms @ 1 ohm for those who dont know)

The 2512's will sound great in the right box. They can have amazing attack.

They will be ok on that 1100w, but would really like more. Say 1500-2k.

I don't know if I'd put 2k to a 2500 series. It would probably take it but I don't know how long they'd last. I'd say 1500 is about the max for long term daily abuse

it would be two... so a 2000watt amp would only be 1000 per sub which im sure they can handle...

Im not really to keen on going bigger then the 1000D though. Not to big into having super big stereo anymore I just need something thats good...

I assume you mean the DD amps M1 and M2 but if I put one per sub thats only 2 ohm not? being they are D4's? I might as well run the 1000D at 1ohm would be the same as the M1, and the M2 would be better for if I run it at 1ohm but thats more money and I like my 1000D... lol

Ill try it with the 1000D and if im not happy I will grab 2000+wtms amp. Delear sells the 2500's with the 1000D...

hmm I am buying one of those alpine stackable amps for the 4 channle... I could just go 2 of the 1000 watt mono blocks and have the amps match. They go pretty cheap on ebay.

ok i wasnt really thinkin just offering amp options..... imnew to dds amps but not subs and dont really have any experience but i have heard lots of good about them.... what ohm ya need the m3 z1 and z1a will run low i do know that.....

Yeah that would 850 per sub then. But if im buying a new amp I might as well shoot for 1000-1500 per sub then... at least thats my train of thought lol

first things first I need to upgrade my speakers and get my HU installed... once I have my battery in the trunk and all my wires run and new components and amps installed... then i can think about subs...

Will try the 1000D and if its not enough will look to bigger amps... like the DD M3 or 2 x Alpine PDX-1.1000 to match the PDX-4.150 im getting...

dd's also under rated theres a m2 for 450, a m3 for 750 both shipped , louisiana_crx has them on soundpressure.....

What is a good price for 12" DD 2500's new? Just checking so the dealer doesnt try and screw me over.
