2 subs, 1 port?

Question... I'm fixin to build a box for a friend and I was wondering if I need to make the port bigger for two subs. The subs are kicker compVR 12's. Kicker recommends 3in wide by 12.5in tall and 20.5 inches long for ONE. Will only one port work cuz thats all i have room for in this situation... Oh, and the box is gunna be around 3.5 cu.ft.

the recommended specs for the port or for each sub...although seem a little high. according to these numbers, you will need 75sq" of port. you can get away with using about 60sq" or so.

Real simple man you just multiple height x wide. In your case its 12.5 inches tall X

3 inches wide whick equals 37.5 sq in. So if you want to make a single 60 sq in port for both subs you would divide 60 by 12.5 which equals about 4.75 inches.So your port would be 12.5 inches tall and 4.75 inches wide.I hope this helps

I just built a box for a guy with 2 12" CVR's, did 3.5^3 @ 32Hz with 62^2 port. Got pretty loud and he's happy with it.

Box was around 32w x 14h x 25d with a double baffle. Fit in the trunk of a Grand Am sliding it through the rear seat opening.

Man, ya'll have been a really big help... ok, so now that brings me to another question. Lets say you didn't know anything about the sub what would be the basic information needed to figure out how many sq" the port needed to be and the tuning freq.?
