2 seperate chambers? 1 Box 2 10's?

The way my trunk is kinda limits me to doing this.

I am currently running two Polk DB10's in a 13x31x9in box= 2.09cu ft....wich is way too much.

MY option is to make 2 smaller separate boxes, something like 13x12x7in. which should epual around .6 cu ft. They would be across teh trunk from each otehr. will the bass sound differnet..? worse...maybe better? or no change. And im not asking about the quiality from a change in cu f, im asking about the change from one box to two seperate ones?

Shouldnt sound any different except of course for the smaller airspace, just make sure the boxes are as close to exact as you can get.

By across the trunk from each other do you mean firing in the same direction of firing facing each other?

I was actually curious in that. Would that sound bad with two subs firing toward each other in different boxes?

Never tried it but I don't think it would sound good if they fired right at each other
