Ok so this is the last one lol.... Like the title says.... I know cone area can be "king" but im just curious. Im having a friendly argument with a friend/Teammate about it. He says the hd15 would be louder BUT im thinking nah due to the SA's "efficiency".

The Hd is ran at .5ohm so around 2500 rms or so id say.

or

2 Sundown SA 12s will be at 1 ohm,so around 2000 rms or so split(1k each)

-Space wise i have enough space either way so no issue there.

-I dont need box designs, I GOT THIS lol

-MY GOAL is a daily driver thats able to produce decent on Term lab so SPL over SQ(Im tuning the SA box around 35hz-36hz if go that route (
Thoughts....

With HD getting quite a bit more power, I might lean in that direction, but I'm a one sub kind of guy anyway. Whatever the difference, it probably won't be all that noticeable. It's all in the boxes.

with my 1 15" everybody that stops me thinks i have 2- 12" . i had 1 older ( maybe my age ) asked if i had 4 12" .. lol

but im want to do more. i want to do 4- 15" ether wall or im leaning to just 1 big asss box. as im going to bag and maybe body drop my s10 blazer. if i do ill be limited on space for a wall.

anyway good luck with what ever you get....

Like the other guy said I don't think the difference will be to noticeable between the two setups with the HD getting a little more power. Really will just come down to what you would prefer to run but if electrical is an issue with the SA's you will be running at 1ohm so your amp would not get as hot, you will be running less power, and the amp should be more efficient.

i all honesty this Soundstream isnt as bad as you would think at .5 daily and i have a stock alt but a couple of agms in the trunk and it suprisingly hasnt got that hot on me but im smart with my system if its really hot out then i would give it so much he11, and its never protected on me(yet lol). For the most part i can maintain 12.5 or above(depending on the song and freq) at 2k rpms, i usually dont play at idle.

But i think im going to just keep my HD15, its a pretty solid setup imo. I have about $520 total in it through, big 3, wire, HD15, box, my Soundstream Ta1.3k, HU, batteries, and my pac knob lol... #Budget Bangin

Yeah that would probably be the smart thing to do and save yourself some time and money, but I know how it goes by the time I have one build complete I am ready to try something else
