2 RE se's or a single XXX

I am debating on whether to get 2 10" RE se's or a single 12"XXX. I have heard though that the XXX needs a huge box to sound good. I have a 98 nissan sentra and dont want to take up the whole trunk with a box. Will the se's be better for a daily driver car or will the XXX do fine. ALso, which will give me better sq?

go with the 12" XXX. It will get a good amount louder than the SE's and sound better SQ wise. The XXX does not need a huge box. U could give it a 3-4 cube ported box tuned loud and it will be very loud. XXX handles more power than the 2 SE's do as well.

Both are Awesome subs. both sound great in sealed and ported boxes. If i was and ur not a crazy about SPL i would get 2 12" SE's and put em in a sealed box with 1200 watts.

if u go sealed with the XXX ur gona need id say at least 1400 watts.

My XXX is in a 2.7 ft^3 ported box tuned to 28hz it wanged hard with just 1000wrms now i just got my hifonics BX1500 (1500wrms) i will let you know how that works out...also the SQ is simply amazing!!!! So i dont think it *needs* a bigger box..........and sealed it can take a very small box like 1ft^3 or less i believe

Boxes for 12" XXX:

Sealed:

1^3 - .69 QTC but an odd group delay for sealed (like you could hear it anyway). Would need more power than a larger box

2^3 - .57 QTC and everything else looks great.

Ported:

2^3 @ 28Hz - group delay looks bad, but output and phase look just fine

4^3 @ 28Hz - actually looks too large for the driver

Honestly, if going ported @ 28hz a 1.4 after displacment looks best, but you will sacrifice a little output in the lower range.
