Hates distortion
I have a 10" RE transducer and a previously used 0.75cubic foot sealed box (sub displaces 0.9 = .66). I would like to port the box; however, after calculating the port it seems I can only enclose a 2" diameter port. I must be dumbfounded, because this doesn't seem rite.
I absolutely do not want any port noise. I am more for sound quality not outright loudness. I kind-of like smaller enclosures, for their high-impact bass. This will be my first ported sub I have ever used in a car.
RE's owner manual recommends:
Ported:
I could also keep the box sealed, but I would need to decrease the internal space with coke or something.
Is it safe to tune to a lower frequency?

RE's owner manual recommends:
Ported:
- (compact) 0.65 cubic feet, tuning to 35 Hz
- (optimum; more towards the SPL side) 1.0 cubic feet, tuning to 35 HZ
