I was wondering what amp i should use to power 2 12 inch l7's? Was also curious as to if I should get a ported or sealed box and what capacitor(s) I need. Thanks for the input

listen to mostly rap, occasionally some rock like alt/metal. Looking to spend I would guess around $300-$400.. nothing insane just an amp that gets the most from the subs without blowing my wallet. Its going in the trunk of my de ville so its pretty roomy. Was not sure whether to get the 2 or 4 voice coil, whats the difference?

I'd probably recommend getting two dual 4's, wiring both the coils and subs in parallel so that you get a final load of 1 ohm. Most amps do their rated power at 1 ohm.

get something that puts out around 2000 rms. it might sound like alot for them but they can handle it.

Yeah But I would say get a battery for the back unless you have a decent front one and/or a HO alternator. But understand why you don't need caps why their useless. You dont wanna kill you alternator or have dimming lights. If you do plan on putting 2k on this or anything close to it, your gonna have to do some form of upgrade for your electric

you don't have to go with a amp that does it max power at 1 ohm. it just all depends on what you want to run. if you want to stick with kicker then you'll want to get duel 2 and wire them to 2 ohms thats what most of kicker amps are stable at. it just depends on what you want to do. and yes i would recommend doing ported with it you'll get louder that way if you have to room for it. but also what was already said you'll need at least another batt in the back. right now with what i'm running in my sig at idle my voltage drops all the way down to mid 11's on full tilt and at idle it stays around 12. so you'll want to upgrage you'll eletrical for sure. or risk damaging thinks like i am risking. but i do only have a 90 amp alt so that doesn't help at all.
