looking for a new setup, going for daily driving SPL. not sure on my amp yet, probobly will do somewhere in the 2000-2500 RMS range. have about 7.5 Cu ft MAX to deal with

two questions. which will work best with the airspace i have

and which will have the best SPL while still maintaing some SQ

what about type R 15"s? i already have the amp to power them, and would be alot cheaper.

just looking for something louder than my l7 12's

thanks.

EDIT: will be the 2005 l7's with the silver cone. as well as the 2005 type r's

I love my L7, but would probably have to go with the SX from what I have read.. The SXs hit the lower notes better and have the potential to get a little louder than an L7.. Thus my choice of the SX.

just wondering how you know that the sx's get lower and louder?

i had an sx and loved it, never heard an L7 but want to

With that airspace Id go with sx's 15" l7's love boxes around 4-4.5net cu each especially if your going for the subs to get low. You can still use the l7's in 3.75 each but I just wouldnt tune lower then 35hz so the lows will be hurting. 15" type-r will also do good in your amout of airspace tuned to 32hz would be my choice for DD driver setup getting loud will mantaing awesome sq.

oh one more thing, what about the 2 15" type Rs? how would they do compared to these two, i know 15" l7's would probobly kill them in SPL, but would they have more SPL than 2 12" l7s that i have now?

i just dont want to put all my money into something tha'ts not going to be as loud as what i have now.

thanks

yes they will kill your current setup and don't underestimate these subs people have got 1 15" type-r to kill 2 15"sx and l7's it's all about the install man If I was you man I would get the type-r's becuase I think they are an all-around better DD and they love power so feed them as much as you can and bump for when you have a killa setup;)

I'd personally go with the SX out of those choices.

I really don't like the sound of the L7's, though that's completely subjective. The SX, I'm not a huge fan of the sound either, but they get stupid loud and have a good overall range.

Throw 1000 watts in around 3.5 cubes net tuned around 34 (each) and you'll get plenty loud while maintaining what SQ they do have.
