not necessarily. it's not bad, but it's always good to run a bit bigger amp, because much of the time subs are underrated. you can always have a little more power, but not use it, as opposed to working an amp too hard-thus sending a clipped signal. but it should do ok. first of all, box is going to be key. my brother has two cvr tens with a kenwood amp, and for what they are, they really do bump. not all that low, but they hit high 30's decently. on the other hand, one of my friends from school just got his two l7 twelves stolen, but i heard them beforehand. the difference was the box. the lsevens are better subs, but it all depends on the box. the cvrs were actually louder than the lsevens, because they were in a great ported box, while the lsevens were in a crappy sealed box. sorry for writing a novel, but i would just say, buy the sub, keep it a while, try it out a few different ways, and eventually get/build a box and tune it for your specific needs. then upgrade amps, and you will probably get alot more and especially lower deeebeeez from your lseven
