i looked on jlaudio.com...but would the cu.ft be different for vented?

would a box off ebay sound good?

And yes its going to be different from sealed to vented, almost always required a larger enclosure when you go ported.

And no, save your money, and contact one of the box builders on this forum. You will be much happier with the results.
