2 IDQ10's vs. 1 IDMAX 12

I'm debating what would sound better, 2 idq10's or 1 id max 12. I was originally going to get 2 idq10s but one of my friends has an idmax 12 he will give me for $100. I am currently powering my 2 type r 10s with a pdx 1.1000 so I have 1000 watts rms running to it. I do ant the best combination of sound quality and loudness (I want it to be as loud or louder that 2 10" type Rs, and i figured image dynamics would have great SQ as well).

IMHO neither will be as loud as the 2 10" Type R's.

Surface area and power would stay the same for the 2 idq 10's. So the only difference is efficiency. The IDQ's do sound pleasant.

The IDMax will have less surface area, but still same power. Though once again, a solid SQL woofer.

do you think it would be worth upgrading to 2 IDQs? The type Rs are great and were amazing for the price but i know there are much much better subwoofers out there.

I know this is largly opinion based, but here's the deal. I have 1000 watts RMS designated for subwoofer(s). Given my car and available space I can really only fit 2 10s, and i love how 10s sound. So im looking for a great SQL 10 inch woofer that runs at 500 Watts RMS. Money is not really an issue. I would appreciate any feedback on this.

With keeping same power and surface area, it's pretty much all going to come down to efficiency and SQ.

The new Type-R's 10 has a sensitivity rating of 83db i believe.

wire 3 of them (dual 4) in series and you get 2.67ohms. They want 300rms ea.

for the price its a pretty lush deal. You could prolly flip it for a profit if you dont like it.

However, I do not predict a gain in output. Only a gain in sq.

I'm doing a sealed box (I prefer sealed) which i'll build but the max airspace I could use given the dimensions would be 1.55 cubic feet total not counting the displacement of the sub(s).

Also, they are not the new type Rs, they are the 1042Ds, but I am looking to upgrade. Also, I don't have enough room for 3 subs, wish i did Goalie.
