No, the box will be 16" tall, and will have like 6-7 inches of clearance ontop of it. Im also gonna try them out firing up and see how i like that. Ive gotten the best output in my cars from angled face boxes though.

Well, 600 bucks covers the wire, also another enclosure im building for 8 5x12 horns for the rear deck, the 5 cube box, and labor. Im basically only pocketing about 80 bucks or so, but hes a friend so im looking out.

Ill show him this thread and see what he thinks about what you guys suggested, but i already suggested most of it. The audiopipes seem to be very decent for the money though, although SEs did cross my mind.

Something like a single 15" Type-R ported will be cheaper, louder, and take up less space than the 15s he want.

actually the ap's are louder than the re se's how i know i sell both. the ap's will handle 1500rms each all day. sounds like a good set up that he can upgrade to another 15001 and strap down the road...

Good to see that you had both, looking at the specs it seemed the audiopipes are much better subs than anything else i looked at in a similar price range, with the sensitivity, response, etc.

How much difference do you guys think a slant face box would make over a straight back firing box, if any?

Ordered everything today. Got the 1/0 and all the MDF for the box too, will be the 2 TXX series 15"s on the AP1500. I may change my mind and go ported with the box too like some of you reccomended, but is it really worth going ported with only about 3.5 cubes for 2 15"s after port and sub displacement? If i do port theyll be tuned to about 34 most likely.

3.5 should be enough, most 15's like between 3-5 cubes, some u can run at 2.5, i actually heard a pair of the audiopipes the other day and they got real loud, suprised the hell out of me.

I think it's too late, sounds like he got the 2 AP 15s, even 3.5ft3 sealed sounds small for 2 15s. Idk why the hell he didn't just get a single 15 and port it. Will be much louder than those 2 AP 15s in a sealed box that they can barely fit it to begin with.
