2 I-Pipe 15"s off a AP1500 - Input please?

I see alot of people here are biased towards ported, and sure ported may be louder, and maybe i can talk him into trying it in the future. What you guys dont understand is the guy wanted 2 15"s SEALED. Thats what he wanted, so thats what hes getting. Shit, at first he wanted 3 10"s sealed, and i was able to talk him into 15"s atleast.

I tried to talk him into 1 18 ported too like someone reccomended, actually showed him the HDC which i think was onsale for like 300? I personally like sealed boxes in certain applications though, theyre very responsive all over, and you dont have to worry about an SSF or bottoming them out or anything. Ive had setups ported and they got alot louder than they did sealed, but i also had to be careful what i played them at, think they were tuned to 36 and i couldnt play any zoe or anything at a decent volume, though they were loud on alot of songs.

Anyway im sure itll be alot louder than the old *** kicker comps he had, and if its not, ill just try to build him another box and change things till its loud. Im sure he can sell the box for more than im charging him for it (75 bucks) and ill plan another one. He didnt wanna invert the subs either though so that cut me back on some ideas. If he let me remove the spare and do some glassing i could fit about 7 cubes with inverted subs up - port back. Thatd be badass and loud as hell too im sure. If you're building a 3.5ft3 sealed box for 2 15s i highly doubt he'll be able to sell it for anymore than you're charging him, so i wouldn't worry about that.

Why u asking about tuning, i thought u said it was sealed??

Well if you read the post i said id try to talk him into going ported again, but he didnt like the idea the first time for whatever reason. The guy is black, its not like it matters anyway. A sealed box for 15"s will sell easy no matter what it is around his area.

oh God, everyone I know has the mentality that big subs or TONS of smaller subs in too small sealed boxes > all, race isn't a factor though, I'm sure plenty of people of other nationalities are equally as close minded/ignorant

Big 3 + stock batt + nice batt in back, you should be pretty OK with a stock electrical.
Btw for less than 260 a pair you could get a couple of Type-Rs instead of the APs and in IMO they are much better woofers.

Type R fifteens? I have been looking ALL OVER the place for a good deal.

I ran the older Eye Candy version(1-15") and with about 700wrms. First I went sealed in a 3.5 cuft box and it got low. Then switched to ported and it was much louder. Good subs for the $, however the prices have gone up alittle. I paid $113 shipped for mine brand new back in 06.

He should be happy with the results. Could do a whole lot worse.
