Just started this box tonight. Have about 3 hours into it. Just have to put the double baffle on, cut the holes, and it's done. Guy wanted it bare. Box is 7.3 cubes with 120 sq. in. of port tuned to 37 hz. Should make some boom in the back of his Trailblazer. On to the pictures.

Backside is filled with wood glue and will be fiberglassed. And space constraints is the reason for only 7.3 cubes. I'll be interested to hear how it sounds off just one 2200. Any input in design? Never built a box like this before but have seen many like this put up good numbers.

Just finished the box up. Will be left bare for now. Did a double baffle for extra strength, and resined the kerfs, and all corners, so won't be leaking anytime soon. Also have bolts through the box for speaker terminals for maximum power transfer. The guy will probably be installing everything tomorrow and letting it rip. We'll see what she does then.

With it being about 6" from the back hatch, there will be more compression than being a lot farther from the hatch. I'm thinking musically from 36 hz and up.

Yeah. He wanted something that nobody else had, so i figured i would build him this. It won't be playing Decaf anytime soon, but it will soot his needs for hitting high numbers and still being musical. Most of the rap he'll listen to will be in the low to mid 40 hz range.

The enclosure specs look pretty spot on for the listening preferences. My personal experimentation found the Aq to like smaller chambers and larger ports tuned low to play flat and over power the spike in response. The enclosure looks nicely built. I had 2 12's ported at 37 in my s10 blazer and they would play to the low 30's pretty well.

I have been wanting to grab another pair of aq's to play around with I would like to try them out in a tline or horn loaded enclosure.

That's very good to know. The guy had limited space, but i figured that 7.3 cubes would be enough, especially with a HUGH port. Might not do a hair trick but it's going to be painful, even on just a 2200 for now.

Well, I actually live in Stillwater. Haha. The closest person I know that has one is Anthony Aho at Aho Audio in Guthrie. I'd love to have a meet up with some people around the OKC/Stillwater area. The guy i made this box for lives in Moore... Message me your contact info and we can get this setup metered.

Also, he says it's really loud, but like any other bass head wants louder. Therefore he's been talking to me about a wall. Obviously this opens up more air space, but what would be a good net volume and port area for a wall with these 2 HDC3 15's?

I will send over my info in a few...

As for a wall...well i would do around 8.5-9.5ft3 with a large amount of port area.

Is that your adds on craigslist I see from time to time lol

BTW- I'm buying a CNC very very soon and picking up a new location(in OKC or Yukon not sure which yet) so if you need something custom done that is a pita with basic tools just hit me up.
