2 Batteries under the hood...?

Would this be a stupid idea? Im looking to add a second battery to my setup, but i was thinking...

On the bottom right of that pic. theres a little storage box. Totally unused. If i take that out, i can fit a battery there, no problem. Does anyone think thats its a good idea? Or add it in the back.

my friend with an 07 GMC Denali has two batts up front and hasn't had any problems....its been almost a year.

i would go with the same kind. idk what i did but i put a kinetik and a yellow top in the back wired parallel and my amp blew
