would 200 amp alt and a few 140 ah batts do the job? big 3 1/0 gauge wiring of course.

exactly. you WILL NOT get that amount of power without the electrical. Not the most efficient amps out there.

Simple if the amps don't have the power source to create power than you will get less than rated. that electrical SHOULD be enough for those amps. I'd say at least three of those batts would do well.

That is understandable. Is my alt too small? I was going to buy a 250 amp alt for like 300 bucks but some guy was getting rid of a 200 amp alt for like 140 bucks. I couldn't complain.
