For as little power as you will be running... splitting the 4awg run to two 8awg runs is perfectly acceptable. You should also run the correct fusing though. To get the most out of the system, you should fuse the main 4awg line at 150a. Use a FUSED distro to split to the two 8awgs. Fuse those both at 80a a piece.
Fuses are not to protect the amp. They are to protect wire overdraw... which equals a short, or worse.
