2 8 in Help

New sub came in 2 weeks ago,

2 8 in

spec:

250 rms, 500 peak each

4 ohms

1 1/2 voice coil

Now i put it in port enclosure It's get loud & clean but when it hit 40 or below its buttom out.

The box size is

19 3/4 w

15 3/4 D

16 H

& ported size is 3 inch

Question is box to small?

port size to small?

& it's power by 2 of these http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=300-804 at 4 ohms which giving 240 rms per sub & yes it wang hard.

another 3 inch port?

2 4 inch port

if you're not getting port noise, then more port isn't going to help bottoming out issues.

what do you have the subsonic filter set to? and what's the box tuned to?

if you're giving them near RMS, in a ported enclosure, below tuning, without a subsonic filter you're just asking for over-excursion.

It does have port noise when it hit 40 or below, subsonic filter is set at 34 hz & i want it to able to hit lower notes
