I have a 13W7

I have a 1000/1 (JL)

But I do not have room for a single 20" long amp...

Would using 1 500/1 per coil be the same as having the 1000/1?

Performance wise, not really. You'll just have to be sure that you set all of the settings on both amplifiers exactly the same.
