2 15's too much?

I have some old 15" Technic woofers that I acquired about 5 years ago. When I got them, the cabinets were extremely beat up, and the ports look like they were chewed up by dogs. I never got rid of them because I figured I could try to revive them, 'cause the speakers themselves are in practically in brand new condition. I have a cheap 300 watt plate amp, that would power these pretty well. Do you think it would be worth it to buy the extra supplies (Already have the wood) to make an enclosure for these and use them for an HT setup? Right now I have a single 8" Dayton, that puts out a good amount, but I have been wanting something that will rumble the floors while watching movies with huge explosions, but still sound good while listening to music, from all genres. I don't know much about building HT setups, so what would be good tuning for these, and what size box should I try?

Do you know what size and tuning I should use? I would like to keep them in the same box, but if it's too large, I would probably make 2 separate boxes, and use them as end tables while they're not in use.

I would guess like 4-6 cubes each @ 20hz or so but I could be way off, can you hunt down the t/s specs?

I think they're from the early/mid 80's so I think it would be nearly impossible to find them. I know they'll only take about 200WRMS for the pair at the most, so if these don't do what I am wanting, I may just have to pick up some Aura Bass Shakers.

I would try to find someone to measure the T/S parameters for you, or invest in some tools to do it yourself, surely someone near you has to have tools to do it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ur asking a forum (that runs 15s and 18s daily )if two 15s is too much?

NO SUCH THING!
This is Home Audio, not car audio. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I don't know many people that run 2 15's and 18's in a simple HT setup.

I do.
Big box, tune low.
What are you running, and how does it sound? I'm just now getting into home audio, so I don't know much, like brands and such.

Technic is a great brand, i have a technic receiver and i power 4 12's with it
I use to have a whole stackable stereo that was Technics brand, which is where I got these from, but the stereo was stolen along with 7 of my dirt bikes. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I was running an old school RF Punch 18", tuned around 23 hz in 6 cubes. Sounded great.

If you're gonna be watching movies w/'em.. then tune low 20's.. if you really just wanna be kinda loud & be able to drop low, try low 30's.

I'd suggest low 30's anyway, if it were me.

It would be mainly for movies, but on occasions I try to put on some music. I'm ordering some resistors so I can attempt to measure the TS parameters on my own. I've been thinking about 28-31Hz, 'cause I want low end, but not give it too much to were it would bottom out or something from too much excursion. They don't have too much xmax, I know that much.
