2 15" vs 1 18"

So I have a old Memphis mojo 15-cm15d2 just sitting at my parents house because its blown just waiting to get fixed. Should I

A:Buy 1 18" I was looking at FI SP4

B:Buy my buddies Mojo

Mind you its going in a pretty small car, a 08 mazda3

Also mind you there are some power restraints because I'm not looking to spend more than 500-600 on an amp

if was me id go with 2 15s. more cone area, motor force, can use about the same size box as 18. thats if subs were equal. if the 18 is much better quality than the 2 15s id prolly go with the nice 18. quality over quanity.

with that trunk you should just go with 12s

Can you can't ignore the cone area advantage at is quite significant, about 115 square inches. That's like adding a 12" sub on top of the 18".

However in a trunk, I see no need to go that big. Two 12"s or even a 15" off a good amount of power should do you fine.

just run a single 15. your budget aint gonna work with a sp4. youll need a 3k amp, a big battery in the trunk a upgraded one under the hood a ho alternator, 20 or so ft of ofc 0g. a aq1200 or similiar goin to your mojo15... if d2.. in a good box and i would think you would be happy. really, an 18 doesnt belong in your trunk

Sorry I didnt provide the complete details. Will be taking out the back of the backseat and putting the sub there, therefore i basically have the whole trunk for just straight box and port so the box can be pretty large. The Mojos RMS at 1750 so I'm thinking for 2 I need at least 3000W. Is there anyway I could get that for around 500?

A guy in Rhode Island is doing 156's with a pair of mojo 15's in his accura. They are quite capable. I think the difficulty may be finding OEM recone kit for your broken one that will match the other one.
