2 15" Kicker L7's

Hello everyone,

I have decided to go with 2 15" Kicker L7's only problem is I have no idea how to install or set it up(thinking about it getting it done professionally:rolleyes: ).

However I would like to get some input from you guys on this set up. I plan on ordering everything from eBay because it's seems to be cheaper //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sub Specs Are As Follows:

Dual 2 ohm voice coils

2000 watts max power handling

1000 Watts RMS power handling

89.4 DB sensitivity

frequency response: 180 - 100 K

mounting depth: 8.5ý

cut out diameter: 14-1ý

sealed box volume: 1.5 - 6.00 cubic feet

vented box 3 - 6 cubic feet

The Amp I Am Looking At Is A Kicker 1200.1 Amp. . I Am Not Sure If That Is Any Good Or Not? But The Specs Are:

RMS Power Output: 600W x 1 @ 2 Ohm

Peak Power Output: 1200W x 1 @ 2 Ohm

Birdged Output: 1200W x 1 @ 1 Ohm

Signal To Noise Ratio: 95dB

Frequency Response: 20-200Hz

Input Sensitivity: 13.8V

Bass Boost: 18dB

Built-In Crossovers: Variable 12dB

THD @ 4 Ohm RMS Power: 1.50%

Ohm Load Stability: 1 Ohm

I'm not sure if this particular set up will work or not but perhaps someone can tell me if it will or will not;) if it wont please recommend something that will //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif any input will be GREATLY APPRECIATED! I've been waiting for months to get a system and L7's looked pretty good. Also if anyone has tried any good HU's let me know!

A few things.First, the subs you cop/pasted specs from were dual 2 ohm subs. The amp maked max power at 1 ohm.You can't wire 2 dual ohm subs to 1 ohm.

Second, I'd personally put a 1200.1 per L7.If you go that way keep the Dual 2 ohms.

x2. a 1200 per L7 would be sick. Make sure you've got a stable enough electrical system to do so, too. Teh "Big 3" would be a good thing to go ahead and do.

^ Shows how much i know:blush:

2 1200 Watt Amps would be insane & definatly be too much for my alternator(i think) I drive a 1990 Grand Prix with stock alt. it puts out about 80 amps? Would it work with a capacitor? I dont Know too much about The "Big 3" I Will look into it though. Thanks for the Help!

The capacitor should not be on your "to Buy" list. Forget you ever heard of them. If you do go with the 2 amps, you will probably need to get a new alt. or get your current one rewound. Only once the source of the current is taken care of then and only then would I worry about the storage (more batteries).
