2 15" BTL's, SS 6500, 2006 Nissan Maxima

is it me or is the left sub's surround going to smash into the little ledge sticking out there, it looks like it is pushing on it right now.

im willing to bet you dont have 8V preouts. so that gain setting seems pretty low. what HU you running?
even with my 8v preout HU the gain is up more than that...now you cant just use that as the end all, but like i said im willing to bet youve got quite a ways to go with the gain. and no dimming currently?

i dont think you or that guy that complimented your system know what your in for...

bring a pair of clean shorts with you for the first time you really turn it up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
im running stock HU with a stinger LOC in the back.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif im broke.

and that is a good reassurance.

i have no dimming at all now, i tried it last night.....and yea the only reason the gain is down is to break-in and let glue settle.

hopefully we can get it up some more and get the real potential until i can get a head unit.

yea i went out and looked at it, its not touching, its actually near the rubber gasket but i pulled it a little more just for extra clearance.

and plus, now the subs hardly even move.....

as soon as he demo'd it i was like "the gains are down arent they"

mannn i was tryna take a few videos....

listened 2 a few bass lines wit bass -5 then when i went to do a video i played 'weightman' and actually turned it where it shud be (+2) and after 1 video he came out i was like "too loud?" hes like "yea ur driving my dogs crazy"

right when i was puttin on "ay bay bay" he came out too, and i heard that song has like a constant 45-46hz bassline, which was the peak wit the old setup (not sure if it changes) but still.

and the video came out messed up so forget it.

i would really leave your "bass" at 0.

the bass on stock HU's controls both a frequency range. so your not only messing with the subs, but also with your speakers.

leave it at 0, and just adjust your gain with a dmm. and in the future if you decide to buy a new HU, most of the high quality HU's give you a dedicated subwoofer control that doesnt interfere with any signals going to your speakers.

I think I may do something like this someday. Probably with DD's (I'm going to be a boner *****. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif ).

Looks a LOT like my Altima install, so of course I like it...

You can use speaker grill cloth and make a cover so they're stealth, if you're worried about them being seen & getting jacked.

well when i picked the car up the settings were on +2...so thats as high as i'll take it.

i did notice that the car doesnt flex as much as before, well inside stuff moves more, and the sideview mirrors move way more, but roof and windshield wise, not as much.

although the wipers do jump noticeably now....

but it is WAYY louder then the 2 mags.....the fact that it didnt flex as much interested me.

just turn the gains up, u can put them safely over 3/4 of the way up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
although i will agree that they need to go up...a definate figure such as "3/4", i dont think is a good idea.

i wouldnt be surprised if he could bring them that high, but i think a dmm is in order since i doubt you got an oscope. you can always set gains by ear, but i have always had trouble doing them like that once you get passed a certain volume. then its just impossible for me to differentiate a light clip from regular music. i would need a severe clip to notice it at all.
