(2) 1200d 70 AMP ALTERNATOR

im installing or having installed (depends how i feel) 2 lanzar 1200d amps (about 90 amps each)

they will have (1) 4 g wire going to each. and they will be mounted under the seat so theres not much distance between the batt and the amp.

problem is i have a 70 watt alternator. i have a red top batt and i use 4 guage ground to the engine and to the chasis.

am i asking for trouble? the amps will be running at 1 ohm each.

alright, you're not toally screwed....if you run that you're gonna want at least a decent battery like an optima red/yellow top up front and anothe rin the back. i ran 2800w rms off 2 red tops and a 90amp alty. if you're lucky you should be fine......

best bet is to get a HO alternator of at least 160amps and get yourself a yellowtop up front and you'll be set. be glad you dont have a german car, ho alty's are crazy exspensive for my vdub....

get a better alty first off and big 3 done, get a better battery 2nd. then run 1/0awg wire from the bats to righ before the amps. then have a distrobution black and have 4awg going to the amps, then have those come back to another distribution black and ground them with 1/0awg. you'tr not completely out of luck my friend. you dont need a 200amp alty, but at least 150-160amps to get enough juice for those....great budget amp too, i used to have one...
