2 12" RE SE's, your thoughts

good point, how about 2 12" Kicker L5's in a sealed box 3.4 cubic feet powered by a JBL 1200.1. Do you think that system would be bumping nice?

well i had 2 l7's (im not sure if the specs are the same on l5) but i had several boxes sealed with them and i found 1.0 ~ 1.25 (per sub) to be the best. If you call kicker they will say like 1.5 and i wasnt to happy..I heard them in a .88 and it was nice as well but all in all i think it depends on your car as well

Booooooooo....don't change your choice of subs because your amp doesnt have a subsonic filter. You can pick up some 30hz FMOD HPF's for like 20 bucks and you're good to go.....I would definitely take the SE's over the L5's......I'll get a link for the filters for you in a minute....

I was looking more towards the L5's because I know them. I'm hearing good reviews about the RE SE's but they seem to sketchy to me. They are off some lower class website and they seem like they are to much SPL. I want a Sub that I can listen to while i'm just driving around. I have 2 10" Alpine Type-R's right now and wanted something that hit harder. Do you think the L5's in a sealed box around 3.4 shared chamber will satisfy what I want. The SE's just seem to sketchy

I'd take an SE over an L5 any day...SE takes it in every aspect...

Still man, I just dont know. I've never heard of them, they seem like they are sketchy coming from one site and they seem really small and new and I may have problems with them. I just dont know. try to see where i'm coming from.

But would you guys rather have 2 10" Type-R's in a small sealed with 300 RMS or would you rather have 2 12" L5's in a small sealed with 600 watts RMS (I could go with he 10" L7's instead of the L5's if you think they would be a better buy, what do you think?)

Trust me when I say this, the SE blows away the L5 in every single aspect. Just because you've never heard of them doesnt mean they ****.

I'd take the Type-R's out of those setups. If you're going to get an L5, put it in a big ported box. They're a waste in a sealed box.

You'd need it if the subs are going in a ported box......well, you really don't need it, but it's a very good thing to have. Better safe than sorry.

If the L7's were in a small, sealed box, then yes. L7's are SPL subs, they are meant for big, ported boxes. It defeats the purpose putting them in a small sealed box. I still say you should get some SE's.
