2 12" L7 Ported box buid

looks good. make sure you clean the paint off of the top edge on the port area so that the glue will adhere better to the wood. also the same type of bracing you have at the bottom of the box add it to the top of the enclosure. other then that, thats a nice looking enclosure.

I agree withthe paint thing, but it is nice looking.

i'd run some type of brace ont he front piece though that would be a little more effective than the small triangle.

Thanks for all the comments, I am still hunting for grey carpet locally, where can i get it online? I probably am going to add more bracing to the front panel.

I had Home Depot do the cuts except for the woofer cuts(i did those with the kicker woofer template) and the triangles. Sanding also made the cuts smoother.

As far as it being a small box, i tried with a 6ft^3 first and it wasnt going to fit unless i built it inside the trunk. Now with this 4.3ft^3 i might have to finish the top panel and the carpeting inside the trunk. I hope not though!

Wow those are some very nice cuts considering HD did them. Anyhow, go to http://www.partsexpress.com to order your carpet. Be sure to order the version without latex backing. It's ordered by linear yard (3feet or 36 inches) and is 48" wide. Do the math and order it.

locally you can try a fabric shop... thicker felts work well as carpet. You can also use the Walmart stuff if you'd like, but its difficult to get nice seams with that stuff... (i've tried lol.. its too thick for a BJfish type of technique, and the dimensions of the rolls force you to use 2 rolls and make more seams than you'd need with a better carpet. ALso... its like 8 or 9 bucks a roll, so its more cost effective to just use parts express.)

sounds just like me... i draw the cut sheets so that everything that needs to be the same height fits within 96", then have them make all the cuts a lil long length wize... i assemble the box, use the belt sander to bring all the surfaces to level, then use a roundover bit on the whole box... looks great afterwords.
Did you cut your mounting holes with a router or a jigsaw?

Its gonne be... i won't say impossible, but very difficult to carpet inside a trunk lol...
don't worry though, 4 cubes net is more than enough for a pair of L7's to do some serious hearing damage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
