I think a more important question would be, why are you thinking of giving an MT only 800 watts?

its gonna be temporary...... after i get the sub im gonna get an amp that will push 2000 rms to it daily

the 18" will be louder then lol. But I wouldnt even bother giving it 800 unless you plan on buying a new sub and a new amp.

MT 18 all the way, and crank it up, it will not mess anything up!!! It will laugh at 800 watts, but it will still get loud.

I had my MT18's on 900 watts each for a short time. Would do just shy of 150 dB. . . .
