2 10in subs or 1 good 10 or 12in sub ? help please :)

so i have a chance to buy 2 10in m class memphis subs or 1 10in or 12in treo tsx sub in a sealed box for around same price....the thing is i have limited airspace and not sure of the requirement of airpace the m class needs..

so what would u buy?....what would sound better? ...i listen to hard rock, metal, country, blues and occasionally rap, i want it to sound clean, but when i turn it up, i want it to pound...the treo tsx is good, but im just not sure about the m class......btw its going under the seat of an f150

o and btw its being powered by a 1000w us amp

and do you think sealed or ported?...the guy at the shop said i could port the treo, but i wasnt sure how it would sound listening to country and what not, maybe be to bass heavy

Firstly, this thread is pointless.

I'd hate to say it, but it falls on your own preference. My brother swears by multiple subs, I swear by single subs. In the end, it's what you want.

In terms of air space, I doubt you have enough room to port properly. My brother's F-150 (single cab) can only fit 2 sealed 12"s. You might be able to barely squeeze in a ported single, but that's pushing it.

My personal preference would be to go with the Treos in a decent sized box.

i have around 400, for the sub(s) and box....guy said i could run a treo 10 for 320 or a 12 for 350....the memphis are 300 for both

and it going under the back seat of a extended cab f150

Sort of. You actually want to look at Vd, because it's about the volume, not the surface area. However, having your Vd come more from surface area than from excursion is more efficient in every way except for the space issue of two subwoofers taking more room than one.
