Ok so my buddy has an 2.0 fared cap and he bought it from craigslist it powers up fine. But his lights still dim while hitting hard with the subs wired to 2 ohm .. he didn't get the charging bulb when he bought it. So he just hooked it up.. could this be why its dimming because he didn't charge the cap?? I read u can use a turn signal bulb to charge it..

WTF? Caps don't work?

I wonder what was powering my amp when I won finals then. Because there weren't any batts connected to it.

I had a little more than 2 farads though.

OP, 2F isn't going to keep your lights from dimming. And I have no idea what a charging bulb is. Charge them with a blinker bulb? Lol. You could DIScharge a cap with one. I'm not aware of any special charging requirements at all for that matter. Those small caps just don't do much of anything for voltage in a daily application unfortunately. I'm not sure how so many got so duped into buying them. There is some evidence of them gettin grid of unwanted noise, but that's about it.

2.Extra weight during winter time

3.A very POOR... BUT expensive distribution block

4.A projectile in the event of a crash LOL.

5.Rolling pin--for cooking purposes

6.A neat thing to tell your friend, "..Hey man, lick the top of this.."

If it's connected, it's charged. But just plugging it in charges it quickly and you get lots of sparks. Using a bulb across the fuse terminals charges the cap slowly and safely.
