1x2000 watt or 2x1000 watts?

Would it be better to get one amp for 2000 rms for a single sub setup or go with two amps with 1000 each? I can't really find a 2000 watt amp that is cheap but they have a couple 1000 watt amps where you could get two for around 600-800.

If I just cant happen to find the 2000 watt amps and someone knows of a good one for that price range let me know and I'll look into it.

Thanks.

Well the kicker is 2500 at 2ohms and the orion (the one i think you are talking about, the d2400) only does 1200 at 1ohm. Id rather be under than over but Id rather have 1500 or closer to 2000.

*Edit - I found the 2500D Orion amp, but that is also 2500.

I dont know if I really want to risk that but, if I cant find anything else I could go for that. What about two Alpine PDX-1.1000. I see those being used all the time in pro audio installations. And I could get two for about $820ish. Or I could go with the two Kicker ZX1000.1s for a price of about $500.
