1st wall build questions

Alright I have a few questions about my build. First is how much deadener should I order to do my whole vehicle its a 12 chevy malibu. Second is what do most people use to mount their subs? And lastly what would be the best way to tap into my ac to run to my amp for cooling?

Dinner is used to lower resolution panels not for strengthening panels if you want to strengthen the parents there's other options.

T-nuts work great to mount woofers. You can get them at home depot.

I wouldn't tap into the ac. You can get small fans to cool them but most good amps don't need it.. if you want one Newegg has all kinds and sizes. Just make sure they are 12 volt..

I guess mainly I just want deaden my roof and rear deck would 35 sq ft be sufficient? And the guy in bought my amp from said he did the thing with the ac but would just fans be sufficient to keep the amp decently cool? It's a taramps 10.9k and before anyone even asks yes I have the electrical to back it up

get some gorilla glue and a 1/2 sheet of plywood and glue it and screw it up there. its going to stop flexing WAY better than deader..

Whenever I do decide to compete which will be when I come across a good deal on a couple 5ks with the mwspl rules I don't think I can have wood on my roof or a stripper pole

You can't have anything past the b piller. Unless they changed it.
So if I'm already securing and sealing it off to the roof is it useless to out deadener up there except in front of the b pillar? I'm still not sure if I'll even compete and probably wouldn't be until next season if I did

What I was really getting at is deadner will help lower the resonance and increase integrity but if your going to do all that work you might as well do it right. Even a layer of good deadner will increase output. So yea it's usually worth it if you don't use something to increase the integrity like wood. It's just not nearly as effective.. the Idea with the trim panels are to wedge against the roof and panels to increase the integrity and seal off the cabin..

I would build it the way YOU want it, not per a rule book since it sounds like it'll be a daily/demo set up more than anything.

The roof will still vibrate/rattle, even once walled and sealed off. 3/4" birch or mdf on the roof will work wonders for eliminating flex...

I do plan to compete in the future though. That being said how hard is it to remove wood from the roof thats glued and screwed?

No idea on removing it as I've never had to. You can do the wood and put factory headliner back on so it won't be seen. For a 1x that would probably fly, for a 2-3x comp you'd just be bumped up to a higher class. Not sure on current MWSPL rules as I haven't done one of their shows in 5-6 years...

2 boxes minimum. T-nuts or bolts. If you can find slim ducting to run, go for it. If your amp is in the cabin area it is ok. but I think if it is in the box or behind the wall, it might have minor effects on cabin loading. Try using crossfans. and keep amp in open air to allow better cooling.
