Southeast Region 1st competition

Lol yea bro, that's what u suppose to do. Make sure u burp for only 3 seconds. Then let ur coils rest. U don't wanna end up with burnt coils.

Btw, I'm on my fone @ traffic also going to a competition. 2 hours up north of me. Gonna compete on as many classes as I can. Good luck on ur 1st comp. U will have fun.

good luck dante and kenny test before u run then let the subs cool down a bit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

My sub was smoking after 3 tries of 30 seconds each... I shouldn't have listened to the guys "don't worry it won't hurt that sub" - it smelled like burning smoke for 10 minutes after. I let it cool the ride back home and it seems to be doing fine again. I had a lot of fun, everyone was WAY impressed with the 18" SX... people were around my car for the 4 hours before I got metered.

1st run: 140.1

2nd run: 139.8

3rd run: 139.9

My goal when going to the comp was to hit 140... and I did, so I'm happy. I hope to purchase a TermLab soon and make my money back metering local people. Then deadening my entire car, then somehow cutting the metal wall behind my back seats that doesn't allow the 18's full punch to get inside the car.

Yeah, pretty much a 30 second burp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

My box is tuned to 30hz and there is a thick piece of metal in between my trunk where my box is and my back seat.

Next comp: Hole in that piece of metal, moving the amp rack that's also behind that piece of metal somewhere else and maybe tuning the box around 40hz?

Also, I still use my stock alternator and stock wiring... that will be changed soon too. If I had a way of cutting the metal at the competition I KNOW I could've hit AT LEAST 145.

I have a few questions. I will be entering my first compeition 2 weeks from now.

I know this is gonna sound stupid but what is a "burp".

What is the difference between a sweep and a sine sweep?

Just got my MT installed today and waiting on the batteries to charge up.

Stupid me left the dome light and drained my yellows.

So long story short she is going on the Tl this friday.

Hoping for mid 40's. 42-44 I will be happy.

So us virgins could use all the advice you vets can give.

A burp is a short blast. around 3-5 seconds

Thought you were putting the BTL on the meter //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

This is an old thread, but I'm putting the BTL on the same meter at a show run by the same people on Sunday.
What I learned from the last comp:

- Bring tons of drinks in a cooler

- Bring portable fans

- I'm going to play music at the next show probably, I wish I could find someone local to tell me my peak frequency, so I could find a song to play for 30 seconds....
