Southeast Region 1st competition

I'm going to my first competition tomorrow... any advice?

I called the guy holding the car show and the shop that it's taking place at, just to get an idea of what to expect. My system hasn't been metered and I've talked to a few people about it.

He said I have to bring my own CD and that it could be music or sweeps, but sweeps would be better. I don't even own a sweeps CD, and I don't know what my "peak frequency" is. I really wish there was someone I could meet up with (within an hour from here) and they could just look at my system and tell me what they think I should play and what to do to make it sound best.

Also, I wished I could've had my system metered before the show tomorrow, just to know what I'm lookin' at.

Any advice, tips, people that are willing to take me under their wing today/tonight? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Thanks guys, sorry for being such a n00b... have to start somewhere.

Bring a CD with a sweep from 20 to 80Hz or so, but also have sine waves at each frequency...

Show up early, and see if you can get some meter time before the show starts. At about half volume, run through a sine sweep - if it's using a TL, it should record the frequency at which the highest reading was taken. Plan to burp at that frequency.

Both individual test tones and sine sweeps can be found online...

depending on the show should have 2 runs or cheap reruns. run the firs trun with the sweep then go up and ask what the peak was

burp your next 30 second run with that freq and 1 up and one down from it

3 secodns long each.

Lol yea bro, that's what u suppose to do. Make sure u burp for only 3 seconds. Then let ur coils rest. U don't wanna end up with burnt coils.

Btw, I'm on my fone @ traffic also going to a competition. 2 hours up north of me. Gonna compete on as many classes as I can. Good luck on ur 1st comp. U will have fun.
